Best Burgers in Town

ABOUT

Alamo Springs Cafe is a beloved burger restaurant in Fredericksburg, Texas. Founded in 2006, our no-frills down-home food quickly drew the attention of burger lovers and weekend warriors looking for a meal off the beaten path.

Our biggest claim to fame is the Texas Monthly “Cover Burger,” featured on the cover of its 2009 Best Burgers in Texas issue! This half-pound cheeseburger is topped with grilled onions, avocado, green chiles, and served on a jalapeño cheese bun.

We also serve sandwiches, dinner specials, and some of the best damn onion rings you’ll ever eat.

Our Location

Happy people in front of a Shiner Bock sign

Originally an old saddle shop, the Alamo Springs Cafe building was purchased by the former owner and moved to the middle of nowhere to become a cafe and general store. But soon the burgers were outpacing everything else, and the general store was dropped in favor of serving all burgers, all the time.

Bats emerging from Old Tunnel State Park

We’re located on the outskirts of Fredericksburg right next to Old Tunnel State Park, one of the most unique parks in Texas. The park houses an old railway tunnel that was abandoned in 1942. Since then, it’s become home for more than three million Mexican free-tailed bats. Visit the park at sunset to watch them all fly out!
